I scrolled Twitter last night after coming back from a closing shift at work, and among the hoopla for all of the new music releases, I saw people sharing upcoming Disney content.
Like the thirsty sheep that I am, I had to check out Disney’s Innovator Day thread and see what their offerings for the next few years were looking like. I like to be an informed viewer.
I’m not gonna waste your time. This is what I’m excited about:
Four More Years of Always Sunny

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia received a contract extension for four more years this evening, and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. This was easily the star of the show for me.
Always Sunny is one of those shows that never seems to go away, and I mean that in the best way possible. This show never gets stale for me. I can’t speak for anyone else, but it still brings me to the screen like a drooling, chuckling idiot.
I almost feel like Sunny is getting even better as it grows older, an absolutely unheard of trend in the history of television. Season 14 is easily a top 5, maybe even top 3, season of the show.
The quality of the show remains steady, and the gang wants to continue. Who says no?
Star Wars: Kenobi

L.M.A.O.
I am ecstatic, what can I say?
I thought for the longest time that this was gonna be on the silver screen, but Bob Iger had other plans. I think this is the best possible route for Obi-Wan Kenobi’s story between trilogies.
Let’s not ignore the greatest news to come out of this whole announcement:
HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN IS BACK???!!!!
They really dragged this man out of some hole to hand deliver the bag to him. This man has been MIA since Revenge of the Sith in 2005. I was going into the third grade, man. I’m a whole two-time college graduate at the writing of this article.
I think this has the highest ceiling of any Star Wars-related product that has been produced since the original run of the Clone Wars. I’ll definitely be tuning in.
Chip & Dale Reboot

It’s all about the talent on this one, plain and simple.
You’ve got the vocal talents of John Mulaney and Andy Samberg on the same project. I’m not saying that it’s guaranteed to be good by any stretch. Nothing is certain.
But, this movie is guaranteed to make me laugh, and that’s what I’m sitting in front of the screen to do. As far as that goes, I know I’ll think it’s a successful film because I’ll get what I came for.
I’m just excited to see John Mulaney being attached to more projects. I love listening to him tell jokes. I love watching him spin a yarn on stage. I cannot wait to see him locked inside the body of a chipmunk and see what ensues from there.
Plus, he’s working with a guy he has comedic timing with in Andy Samberg, so I have no doubts about what the people over at The House of Mouse are thinking about with this one.
Jungle Cruise

I know what you’re gonna say:
It’s just another Rock action-comedy movie. Aren’t you sick of those by now?
And to be honest with you, yes, yes I am. The Jumanji remake was fine, but it most certainly did not need a sequel. I’m tired of people trying to make the Rock fit into this box.
However, there is one X-factor in all of this: Jesse Plemons.
I know y’all aren’t going to get it, and it’s probably because you haven’t watched Friday Night Lights. That’s okay. I’ll wait for you to acknowledge how funny Jesse Plemons is.
Putting him and Rock in the same movie where they’re traversing a river that contains piranhas?
Sign. Me. Up.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

For those of you that know me, you know that Doctor Strange is my second-favorite character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Him and Spider-Man are in their own galaxy.
Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the most talented actors in the entire MCU canon, and that’s mainly because he understands his character so well. It’s wonderful to witness.
What makes this even more exciting for me is that it ties WandaVision (would be on the list if it hadn’t been revealed last year) and the third Spider-Man movie.
Those are probably my three favorite Marvel properties being directly fused together. I literally couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m hype.
Luca

The last entry on this list belongs to Pixar, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
This follows the story of two childhood friends, Luca and Alberto during the best summer ever. It comes out in June of next year, and I have a feeling this movie is amazing.
When Pixar makes movies this narrative-driven and focused, they create magic. I know I am going to laugh, cry, and come out of the movie feeling much better about myself.
Those are all the ingredients to a great Pixar movie, and I have no doubt they’ll deliver.
