I have a confession to make and one I do not lament, even if it puts my status as a good pop drinker at risk.
The Peeps x Pepsi collaboration I affectionately call Peepsi is actually really good.
I know, I am just as stunned and surprised as you are reading this, but it’s a really good cola beverage.
Last year, Coca-Cola kicked off their Creations promotion with the puzzling Starlight flavor that, while very tasty, caused me confusion in nailing down what it tasted like exactly.
I thought it tasted like standard Coke was mixed with a toasted marshmallow, but after my fiancé mentioned it tasted a little bit like raspberry, I started to taste that as well.
I say all of this to say my initial draw to Starlight centered on the slight marshmallow highlights, and Peepsi capitalized on that same taste in an even stronger way.
This stuff is good. It is really sweet so bear that in mind if you get ahold of some, but even if your last few sips get down to room temp, it’ll still be a really taste last few sips.
I told everyone I asked about it that it was gonna suck before I had it, but if the Coca-Cola Company has tried to embed anything in my head lately, it is that I need to try it first.
Boy, am I glad I did.
It’s a neat drink that, if it were permanent, I could see myself getting every now and again. Peepsi is a really cool collaboration, and I’m interested in what they do next.
